All the problems related to the formation of governments starting with 2010 derived from the algorithm for distributing the spheres of influence, political analyst Nicolae Chirtoaca said in the program “Place for dialogue” on Radio Moldova station, IPN reports.
“Owing to this algorithm, the MPs are separated from the people’s interests. They do not place emphasis on the fight against corruption, reformation of justice, but discuss the seats that they should hold and the institutions that they should control. Namely owing to this algorithm they cannot reach a consensus to form the ruling alliance,” stated the analyst.
According to Chirtoaca, the PDM wants to take over the power by a possible ruling alliance, while the PLDM is in a difficult situation after several lawmakers left it.
As to the European Neighborhood Policy that was recent discussed in Brussels, the analyst said the EU is interested not in what is going on in Moldovan politics, but rather in ensuring its security. Dramatic changes occurred in the eastern neighborhood of the EU following Russia’s aggression in Ukraine. The Republic of Moldova is regarded as a security zone at the border with the EU,” he stated.
