The ascertaining document concerning the president of the Constitutional Court Domnica Manole, issued by the National Integrity Authority (NIA), is illegal, said President Maia Sandu.
“I hope the jurists, people with experience and knowledge in the field, will clarify this issue. I think we should here speak about our confidence in the National Integrity Authority’s decisions, and I said this not only once, about the way in which this authority has worked since its creation until now,” said the official, being quoted by IPN.
President Sandu also said that she promulgated the law by which the salaries of the judges of the Constitutional Court are raised as the High Court’s decisions influence the quality of life of the people in the Republic of Moldova.
According to the NIA’s ascertaining document, Domnica Manole violated the legal regime of conflicts of interest as in 2021 she pronounced on the constitutionality of a Parliament decision that concerned her. The decision can be challenged in court.
