NGO to hold awareness raising campaign on situation of abused children

The Moldovan representation of the Swiss Foundation “Terre des hommes” will conduct a campaign to raise the awareness of the situation of the abused or trafficked children, from June 24 to 28, Info-Prim Neo reports. The campaign themed “Music for children” will be held in Chisinau, Ungheni and Soroca. Projects worked out by NGOs will also be presented at meetings with citizens. “We are trying to draw the attention of the civil society to the protection of the Moldovan child,” Nelly Motriuc, an assistant for informing and communication, said. Moldova-born renowned violinist Patricia Kopatschinskaja, who is also a Terre des Hommes Ambassador, and students of the musical school “Ciprian Porumbescu” will perform two concerts in Chisinau, one at the National Philharmonic Hall and the other one in open air, on June 28. “Music is a universal language, an indispensable cultural element for our communication with children, necessary for notifying the civil society of Moldova regarding the fate of the vulnerable children. And who can speak this language better than an artist such as Patricia Kopatschinskaja, who is the good-will ambassador of the Foundation “Terre des homes,” Nelly Motriuc added. According to her, children who had to suffer from abuses register psychological, emotional improvements when they take part in programs conducted by “Terre des homes.” “Terre des hommes” is a charity organization working in 32 countries. It has been working in Moldova since 2004.
