The Rural Development Agency during the next two years aims to develop a network of active nongovernmental organizations within the Strengthening the Capacity of the Public-Private-Associative Partnership Constituents and Implementation of Public Policies in the Development Region Centru Project that was presented in a forum of NGOs on November 10, Info-Prim Neo reports. Tudor Golub, the head of the Centru Regional Development Agency, said his team intends to draft a strategy for developing the region Centru and its brand and to make a film to inform the potential partners and investors about the potential of this region. “Today we also launch a virtual communication space – strateg.md. There will be organized different training seminars and workshops to teach the NGOs to work out competitive regional development projects,” Tudor Golub said. Anatolie Bucatca, the head of the development region Centru, said it is good that the forum brought together NGOs from all the development regions - Centru, Sud and Nord - as this shows that civil society is interested in establishing sustainable partnerships with the central and local authorities in formulating and implementing regional development projects. Deputy Minister of Construction and Regional Development Veaceslav Gututui said in Europe the regions are set up with the contribution of different institutions that administer them, propose projects, attract investments and help the regions to develop uniformly. Valentina Plesca, the head of the Ministry's General Regional Development Division, mentioned the main results achieved in the area, including the first contest of regional projects, where there were selected 56 of the 135 presented projects, and the creation of the National Regional Development Fund which includes 1% of the budget revenues that are used to implement regional development projects. Morana Smodlaka Krajnović, program director of the Academy for Educational Development that supports the project, said in an interview that she is very glad to support the Moldovan NGOs so that they actively engage in the formulation and implementation of projects designed to improve the people's lives. The Strengthening the Capacity of the Public-Private-Associative Partnership Constituents and Implementation of Public Policies in the Development Region Centru Project is financed by USAID through the Moldova Civil Society Strengthening Program and is implemented by the Academy for Educational Development. The public partners of the project include the Ministry of Construction and Regional Development, the Centru Regional Development Agency and the local councils of the 13 districts of the Centru region.
