NGO from Transnistria solicits Chisinau to recognize independence of Chechnya

The Transnistrian based Forum for Democracy and Human Rights proposes to the authorities from Chisinau to recognize the independence of Chechnya, a declaration of the aforementioned organization states. “Taking into consideration that the Russian Federation nourishes the separatist regime from Tiraspol, we propose to the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to show some courage and as a response to the destructive actions of the Russian Federation, which are directed against the independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova, to recognize the Chechen Republic of Ickier as independent state –the declaration informs. The forum also proposes to the Moldovan authorities to declare the Ambassador of RF to Moldova, Nikolai Reabov as “persona non grata”; to address a protest note to the authorities of the Russian Federation in order to ask explanations regarding the participation of officials from Russia as observers to the referendum on independence, and to spread on a daily basis information about the infringements of citizens’ civil rights in Moldova’s eastern region in “Teleradio Moldova” broadcasts and other media etc.
