The employees of recreational and alimentation units are urged to seek help from the noncommercial association “Mar” (“Apple”) when they become victims of abuses, acts of corruption or their rights are infringed by employers, clients or the authorities, IPN reports.

The association’s head Aneta Zasavitski said that the organization was founded at the end of July with a view to representing the interests and rights of about 150,000 people working in the public alimentation and recreational industries of Moldova.

One of the most often violations identified by the association is the taxing of students who work while studying. The state provides the students with free health policies, but when they start to work, the employers retain the health insurance contribution from their salary. Another problem mentioned by Ana Zasavitski is the excessive number of inspections carried out at public eateries by representatives of state services.
