The National Food Safety Agency (NFSA) will conduct border inspections based on risk analysis. The institution said the application of the EU good practices concerning border inspections based on risk will ensure more efficient control over imported goods by authorizing the placing of products that are safe and inoffensive for human consumption on the market, IPN reports.

The Agency informs the business entities that import products of non-animal origin that the Agency’s director general on February 8 made an order on the approval of the regulations concerning the temporary stepping up of official inspections and emergency measures that regulate the entry into Moldova of particular goods from a number of countries.

The regulations include the list of non-animal food products and food for animals coming from particular countries, which will be temporarily subject to increased control on entry into Moldova.
