Next two weeks could be declared nonworking for public sector employees

The public sector employees could have away from work during the next two weeks as well. The measure that according to the Ministry of Health turned out to be efficient is to be proposed to the Commission for Exceptional Situations, IPN reports.

After the meeting of the National Focal Point, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu said they suggest that the next two weeks should also be declared nonworking. Later, depending on the developments, it will be decided where to add one more week to the two weeks or not.

Attending the news conference, the representative of the World Health Organization in the Republic of Moldova Igor Pokanevych said the epidemiological situation necessitates such a move and the call “Stay at home!” is for everyone, except for those who are in the frontline.

The budget system employees also had away from work during March 30 – April 3. The nonworking days were to be calculated as working days for March and April and paid as such.

A state of emergency was declared in Moldova for 60 days on March 17. Moldova so far has got 864 confirmed cases of infection with COVID-19 and 17 deaths associated with the novel coronavirus.
