The news items that contain sex scenes or obscene behavior cannot be broadcast during prime time, when they can be watched by minors. The Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) insists that such news stories should be aired only after 10pm, IPN reports.

The Council debated the issue in a meeting on June 13, after Pro TV Chisinau broadcast a news item about a Russian night club that contained a sex scene in the news bulletin of 8pm.

BCC member Dinu Ciocan said the news report contained no warnings for parents that it should not be watched by children.

Another member of the Council, Mariana Onceanu-Hadarca, said that the information was good for the rating, but wasn’t of major public interest and shouldn’t have been transmitted at 8pm.

In the same meeting, the BCC warned publicly the channel TVC 21 for violating the regulations concerning broadcasting of advertisements.
