Ivan Gnatishin was appointed as Ukraine’s Ambassador to Moldova by a presidential decree that was published on the official website of the Ukrainian President, IPN reports.
The Ukrainians press reported that Ivan Gnatishin is an economist by profession. He started his diplomatic career in 1996, when he was named the Ambassador of Ukraine in Chisinau. He held this post until 2000. In 2003-2004, he served as an ambassador with special missions of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, while in 2004-2006 – as Ukraine’s Ambassador to Slovenia. Since November 2007 until February 2011, he worked as deputy minister of foreign affairs of Ukraine. Until 2015, he held the post of senior adviser to the Ukrainian foreign minister.
At the end of last October, Ambassador Serhii Pyrozhkov, who served in Moldova since 2007, was recalled by a decree signed by President Petro Poroshenko.
