Five new battery-powered trolleybuses that were assembled by the Chisinau Electric Transport Company last yearend were placed on routes on a trial basis, IPN reports.
The vehicles have new generation batteries that enable to travel up to 30 km autonomously. They have air conditioning systems, internal surveillance cameras, LED lighting, electric remote-controlled mirrors and USB outlets for travellers at each set of chairs, the Chisinau City Hall has said.
A sum of 26.5 million lei was earmarked in the 2020 municipal budget for assemblying new trolleybuses this year.
