New trade union to safeguard interests of over 500 cleaning employees

More than 500 employees of Terra Cleaning Company filed applications to join a new trade union in the field of outsourcing. According to the company’s director Alexandru Platon, the trade union was created with the aim of protecting the interests of the employees, signing collective work contracts and solving socioeconomic problems, Info-Prim Neo reports. The over 500 employees do the cleaning at METRO Cash&Carry Moldova, SA Moldtelecom, SA Victoriabank, IS Registru, and the Chisinau International Airport. Alexandru Platon said that since the foundation of Terra Cleaning, the employees have faced different organizational and social problems. The new trade union will make sure that the financial assistance offered on certain occasions is distributed uniformly and will defend the interests of its members. The head of the Federation of Communications Trade Unions Ion Pargaru said that this outsourcing trade union is the first of the kind in the Commonwealth of Independent States. Outsourcing is the arrangement for somebody outside a company to do work for that company.
