The first meeting of the Surveillance Committee of the EU Public Policy Counseling Mission for Moldova was held. A number of 26 high-level advisers will provide assistance to the chiefs of state institutions, including the Prime Minister, IPN reports, quoting the Government’s press service.

“We want the implementation of reforms to be accelerated, in terms of quality as well. I think this instrument of high-level counseling is extremely important in the current situation. The international expertise and experience, good practices and learned lessons are what we expect from this project,” stated Prime Minister Pavel Filip.

Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova Pirkka Tapiola confirmed the European Union’s support for the process of reformation and sustainable development of Moldova. He expressed his conviction that this mission would strengthen the capacities of the public authorities, which will help solve problems and improve the living standards of the people in Moldova.

The Premier already has three advisers in such areas as public administration reform, financial-banking sector, communication and transparency. Two more experts will be selected for the anticorruption and justice sectors. The goal of the project is to assist the Moldovan authorities to implement the reform agenda in the European integration process, in particular to develop the capacities of putting into practice the Moldova – EU Association Agreement.
