New whiteouts were forecast for the middle of this week, deputy mayor of Chisinau Nistor Grozavu said in Monday’s ordinary meeting at the City Hall, calling on the municipal subdivisions to get ready to cope with the winter conditions.
Head of the Municipal Emergencies Division Vitalie Grabovski said a new cyclone is expected on Wednesday, January 11, with a more powerful impact on Chisinau than the previous one.
Contacted by IPN, head of the Weather Forecasts Center Gennady Rosca said heavy snowfalls are expected on January 11, but no warning has been yet issued.
The next few days, daytime temperatures will vary between -3 and -9 degrees Celsius, while nighttime temperatures between -8 and -11 degrees Celsius. On the weekend, there will be +1 degrees Celsius during the day and between -9 ...-11 degrees Celsius at night.
