New service for holders of electronic identity cards

The state-run Information Resources Center “Registru” has launched a new electronic service intended for holders of electronic identity cards and of other public key certificates. The service is provided free and enables viewing the information about the accessing of personal data on the portal www.e-services.md, IPN reports.

The head of the press service of the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology Stela Nistor said the electronic identity card started to be issued on May 13, 2014 and allows identifying and authenticating the holder in the information resources and systems, including by using the digital signature for electronic services. “The electronic document offers much more possibilities than the ordinary, plastic identity card. It contains the digital signature and allows signing a number of documents in electronic format and accessing online services. It does not yet substitute the ordinary identity card,” she stated.

Currently, the electronic identity card is integrated with the e-government platform MPass. The applicant is offered access in online regime to the information about the operators that processed their personal data and the time when these data, which are stored in the registers of “Registru”, were accessed during the last two years.

In the near future, the persons with electronic identity cards will be able to access online services integrated with the governmental platform MSign, which will allow formulating legal acts in electronic format. These services are: submission of tax statements and e_Invoice; online reporting on the mandatory health and social insurance contributions; ordering of duplicates of civil status documents, e_Licensing of different kinds of activities, and provision of data from the real estate register.
