A new educational module called Road Security will be introduced in schools starting with the next academic year. The subject will be mandatory for all students.
Secretary of State at the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research Angela Kutasevich has told IPN that the working group set up for the purpose starts work on April 5. This will take decisions related to the introduction of the educational module on September 1, 2018.
At the start, the teaching aids will include regulations and guidebooks on road traffic safety. The textbooks will be published by September 1, 2019.
The subject will be taught by class masters. Professional formation courses for these will be staged in July – August this year.
The initiative to introduce the new educational module was discussed by the members of the parliamentary road security control platform last weekend. According to statistics, the 2,512 road accidents involving 350 children that happened last year resulted in the death of 12 children and the serious injuring of 80 children. The others suffered minor injuries.
