Persons who have a category B driving license for vehicles with manual transmission, upon obtaining a new category for vehicles with automatic transmission, will also have the right to drive vehicles with manual transmission in those categories. This is provided in a draft law that was approved by the Cabinet on Wednesday, IPN reports.

By the same decision, the procedure for obtaining the right to drive vehicles of subcategory A1 (light motorcycle) was simplified. Holders of category B permits, with at least two years’ seniority, will have to complete a training course for subcategory A1, being exempt from additional theoretical training and subsequent examination, both theoretical and practical.

Also, when obtaining the right to drive vehicles from one of the valid categories, the right to drive vehicles from the AM subcategory (moped) will be obtained automatically, without the need to get a new license.
