A new round of talks over Moldova’s joining of the Energy Community Treaty will be held in Vienna on Wednesday, November 26, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Economy and Trade. If Moldova joins the Energy Community Treaty it could later integrate into the regional energy market and this would lead to the improvement of the country’s energy security, the communiqué says. Moldova’s delegation will be headed by the Deputy Minister of Economy and Trade Tudor Copaci. It will be composed of representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources and specialists of the National Agency for Energy Regulation. The Energy Community Treaty was signed on October 25, 2005. It regulates the activity of the European energy market. The Treaty’s members include the EU member states and seven Western Balkan countries. Moldova has been an observer to this organization since November 2006.
