The National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI) will approve new licensing conditions for mobile electronic communication networks and from 2014 will issue the given licenses at a contest. The announcement was made by the Agency’s director Sergiu Satnic in a news conference, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Sergiu Satnic said that the GSM license of Orange Moldova expires on Match 7. The ANRCETI will work out a program that will synchronize the expiration date of Orange Moldova with that of the license held by Moldcell so as to later create equal competition conditions for the providers working on this market.
“According to this program, the ANRCETI in March 2013 will issue Orange Moldova with a provisional license for 20 months for using radio channels/frequencies of the 900 MHz and 1,800 MHz bands with a view to providing mobile cellular phone services in the GSM (2G) standard,” said Sergiu Satnic.
He also said that the launch of the public electronic communication services with broadband radio access, named conventionally 4G, by Moldcell and Orange Moldova represented the main event of 2012 on the Moldovan electronic communications market. The ANRCETI this year plans to organize a contest to select the holder of the third 4G license as the appearance of a new provider on the market will stimulate competition and will increase the accessibility of these services.
