New regulations will govern construction of attics in Chisinau

Mayor of Chisinau Dorin Chirtoaca ordered setting up a working group that will review the strategy for constructing attics on apartment buildings in Chisinau, which was approved in 2002, and will draft the regulations regarding its implementation, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Chisinau City Hall. Deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu was named chairman of the working group that will include councilors from all the political parties represented in the Chisinau Council and officials of subdivisions of the City Hall. The working group will draft a new decision concerning the construction of attics and new regulations. Within the UNDP Project “Development of the Municipality of Chisinau”, the City Hall will try to attract technical assistance to formulate the regulations. The review is aimed at improving the situation as regards the management and maintenance of the housing stock in Chisinau and is carried out in accordance with the Housing Policy Strategy of Chisinau.
