Moldovan singer Mihaela Chisnencu won the top prize of the 28th contest “Stars of the Fortress 2010” that took place in the Romanian town Deva. The trophy of the competition went to Alex Mica from Timisoara.
Several days ago, Mihaela Chisnencu turned 17 and for the first time took part in a pop music contest for adults. Seventeen singers aged between 16 and 26 competed for the trophy of the “Stars of the Fortress 2010”.
“I'm the youngest awardee. The others are over 20. It was hard as I sang two songs one after another. I was nervous, but managed to pull myself together,” Mihaela Chisnencu stated for Info-Prim Neo.
Mihaela sang a song from the Romanian repertoire - “I admit I miss you” by Viorel Gavrila and Roxana Popescu, and “Sweet people” that was sung by Ukraine's Alyosha at Eurovision 2010.
Ovidiu Comornic and Angela Similea gave recitals as part of the contest. The holders of the contest's trophy include Mihai Traistariu, Cristina Bondoc, Cristina Vasiu and other singers.
Mihaela Chisnencu is a student of the Bucharest-based high school “Dinu Lipatti”, classic singing class. This year, she has won two Third Prizes at the contests “Contrapunct” and “Fiero” held in Romania. She is now working on several new songs written by Moldovan composers. She hopes to record them during the Christmas vacation that she will spend in Chisinau.
