The Government endorsed a series of amendments by which the method of introducing oil products through the Eastern border of the Republic of Moldova is modified, IPN reports.

Thus, the Customs Service will clear oil products introduced through the border crossing point Novosavitskaya – Cuciurgan at the Bender 2 customs post on a temporary basis, until December 31, 2016. The measure was taken at the request of business entities importing lubricants and fuels that operate on the right side of the Nisru and in order to make sure that the Republic of Moldova, including the Transnistrian region, is supplied with oil products.

This August, Ukraine has stopped the import of oil products for the Transnistrian region by train through the border crossing points Slobodca and Cuciurgan. Therefore, traffic was redirected through the Ocnita border crossing point. This hammered the activity of the Transnistrian business entries. Following discussions with the Ukrainian authorities and agreements reached by the sector working groups for railway transport and customs problems between Chisinau and Tiraspol, it was decided to temporarily allow clearance through the Bender 2 customs post.

In 2012, a decision was reached to resume the transportation of freight by rail through the Transnistrian region. The goods for the Transnistrian region were imported through the border crossing points Colbasna - Slobodca and Novosavitskaya - Cuciurgan.
