A new political organization that will most probably be called People’s Integration Movement prepares to appear on the political arena of Moldova. Engineer and professor Ion Odainic, who is a member of the initiative group for creating the party, in a news conference at IPN said the new party aims to come with a new vision and doctrine and with new, incorruptible people and to change the situation in the country.
“Regretfully, since 1989, our intellectually has kept silent. The so powerful intellectuality that woke up from a lethargic sleep and struggled for the language and independence fell into another sleep afterward. Nothing changed after 25 years of independence. The young people have to go abroad to earn their living. Things cannot go on like this,” stated the professor.
Ion Odainic noted that 25 years ago he created the Association of People of Education, Culture, Science and Arts of Moldova and will now found a party based on this association. He called on all those who want to change something in society to join in or to support this project as they consider right. “It is a difficult path, but we must bring about changes,” he stated.
Initiative group member Valeriu Usatyi noted that a new political movement consisting of honest people is necessary because the situation in the country must be improved.
Victor Juc, vice director of the Institute of Legal and Political Research of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, who consults those who are building the new party, said it seems that there are many parties in Moldova, but the fact that not even one fourth of these take part in the presidential elections shows that many of them are on paper only. Therefore, the appearance of a new party that would not be anchored to a leader, but would be based on a team is welcome. The People’s Integration Movement will be a center-right party with open aspirations of European integration and rapprochement with Romania.
The slogan of the new party is “From people, with people and for people”.
