The Government approved modifications to a number of its earlier decisions so as to gradually implement the new pay system in the education sector, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family Valentina Buliga said the amendments provide for the payment of increased salaries to teachers from September 1, 2009 and January 1, 2010 under the Law of December 23, 2005.
She also said that the modifications specify the functions of the teachers according to salary grades, including the method of fixing the salaries of teachers who do not have the necessary qualifications, of the personnel of methodological centers, of pro-rectors, deans and deputy deans and of university chairs.
The didactic norm will be reduced to 27 hours so as to create optimal working conditions and remove the practice when a person taught a number of courses even in the absence of the necessary qualifications. This provision will come into force at the start of the new 2010 – 2011 school year.
The number of classes that the directors of schools, lyceums and other education institutions can teach will be reduced from 12 to 9 so that they focus on their main duties.
The modifications also say how to fix increments and bonuses.
