A new party is to appear on the national political arena. This is the Party “Statehood – Gosudarstvenosti”. The entity will promote the traditional values, the statehood and neutrality of the Republic of Moldova. Members of the initiative group call on all the people of good faith to help found the new political party, noting that the real changes in the Republic of Moldova will take place when the political class is really changed, IPN reports.

If it is registered, the new party will be called “Statehood – Gosudarstvenosti”. The members of the initiative group said the new party has pragmatic solutions to all the problems faced by the Republic of Moldova. The party will encourage the economic development and statehood of the country.

“Our initiative group launches the procedure for registering a political party of a new type. It will be a party that will propose a development course and concrete solutions to the economic, social and political solutions experienced by the country. All our proposals will have a clear implementation algorithm that will say where exactly human and financial resources will be taken from. Moldovans of all nationalities, unite!”, the head of the initiative group Igor Caldare stated in a news conference hosted by IPN.

According to the members of the initiative group, the new party will unite society around the idea of statehood and will start a real fight against corruption. Ruler Stephan the Great and Holy will be the new party’s symbol.

“We are sure that the situation in the country can be changed only together with the radical replacement of the political class. Our objectives are: to keep the country’s neutrality, the values of the traditional family, May 9 – Victory Day, extensive lustration and a national tribunal, the fight against corruption, modernization of the education and health systems. All those who share these values are invited to join us,” said initiative group member Dumitru Batrîncea.

“May 9 is the symbol of Victory Day. The people of Moldova and those of the former Soviet Union are victorious nations. We invite all the people of good faith to join the ranks of the Party “Statehood – Gosudarstvenosti”,” stated initiative group member Ala Sliusarenco.

“Moldova has a symbol of statehood – Stephan the Great. During his rule, as real patriot, he fought for independence. Many persons try to divide our society and no one wonders what statehood means. We invite all the citizens from the country and from the diaspora to combine forces and to decide what is really important for the country. We call on the real patriots to join the new party,” said initiative group member Margarita Sorochina.

As a result of a decision taken by the Constitutional Court on February 25, 2020, Parliament amended the law on political parties. This now provides that the future parties need to collect 1,000 signatures in support of the founding of the party, down from 4,000 signatures earlier.
