Youths and students are invited to visit a “fair of opportunities” named the Student Expo, which is held in Chisinau to mark the International Volunteers Day on December 5, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Among the opportunities offered by the organizer are free studies in Israel, student exchange programs in several countries, work&travel programs in Dubai, part-time jobs, etc.
“The youths and the students should have the possibility to find a part-time job for an hour or two and earn some money. In Moldova, only 11 percent of all the young persons fit to work have a job. They have fewer opportunities than they deserve”, says Nicoale Carpala, executive director of the organization IRFF ONLUS, one of the organizers.
Diana Ranga, one first-year student visiting the fair, says she would like to find a part-time job, in the country or abroad, or travel to other countries during summer and get more experience.
Alexandru, too, seeks more experience. And knowledge. He says one can find and achieve anything if there's enough will and courage. Alexandru thinks that the government hasn't yet started to value the youth properly. “There were some efforts during the Year of the Youth, but it passed and little was done. It's a pity, because we have really talented youths that could promote the country. Yet circumstances make them leave the country”.
Tatiana Munteanu says she came here to find something for her daughter. But she is quite skeptical. “My daughter has been looking for a job for one year now. Everything is done under the counter. What's the point of going three years to university when all the jobs are booked already? Competitions and transparency are just empty words, it's only to keep up appearances”.
