The Government of the Republic of Moldova has launched a national program to develop youth centers by 2030. "This year we plan to inaugurate at least two new centers," Minister of Education Dan Perciun announced, quoted by IPN.

The program is designed for people between the ages of 14 and 35. The initial budget for the first year is 4.5 million lei, of which 3 million will be allocated for staff development, while the rest for improving infrastructure and expanding educational programs.

The "Plus Centre" program, supported by international partners, including the United Nations Population Fund, aims to expand the existing network, improve infrastructure and diversify activities intended for young people.

Minister Dan Perciun noted the importance of the program for the future of young people in Moldova: "We want to make sure that the activities they provide are relevant for young people, contributing to their professional orientation and personal development."

UNFPA Resident Representative in Moldova Karina Nersesyan assured that the organization supports long-term initiatives dedicated to young people: "We are proud of the support we offer to Moldova to create a better space for the young people."

National Youth Agency director Alex Petrov urged the local authorities and parents to support the initiative: "Youth centers are pillars of non-formal education. If you want more than what school offers you, youth centers are waiting for you."

The authorities noted that through this program, they aim to create a favorable environment for the development of young people, providing them with access to educational activities, socialization and professional integration opportunities.
