The broadcasters are obliged to make sure that the sound inside programs, between different programs and when advertisements are broadcast is not made louder. A decision to this effect was taken by the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) on December 23, IPN reports.

The BCC said this decision was taken following requests made by consumers, taking into account the experience of other European states. As a result of examinations, it was established that the sound at which the commercials are broadcast is much louder than of the programs and films. This causes discomfort to TV viewers and listeners.

In the same meeting, the BCC approved the regulations concerning the procedure and conditions for issuing broadcast licenses and retransmission authorizations for using digital terrestrial multiplexes. There were summed up the results of the contest to choose audiovisual programs that will receive financing from the broadcaster support fund for 2014, which was extended.

The Council members said the quality of programs produced by some of the local broadcasters is much better compared with the previous years, both in terms of the addressed topics and expert panels and the impact of these programs on the general public.
