The Institute of Economy, Finances and Statistics renewed the quarterly analysis publication “Tendencies in Moldovan Economy” (TEM), which was issued between 1996 and 2005, Info-Prim Neo reports. The Institute director, Alexandru Stratan, said that the new version of TEM would present the evolution of Moldovan economy by sector: public finances, currency policies, banking, internal and external trade, business environment and structural reforms, wages and the job market and some regards on the European integration process. “Our goal is to extensively present the developments, to highlight the significant details, and to comment less, although we will state our views. It may be an alternative point of view, different from that of the Government or other state or international institutions that predict Moldova’s economic growth and development perspectives”, Alexandru Stratan said. The first edition contains studies on the economic development in the first quarter of the year, supported by statistical data. Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar thinks TEM is a useful and reliable source of information, which enhances the analysis and communication capacities in the country. The published materials will be highly useful to those who develop policies, to office holders, international bodies, potential investors, to the whole business community as a whole and to researchers, students and everyone interested in Moldova’s economy. The release of TEM was supported by the EU Delegation in Moldova and by the UNDP through the common project EU Mission for Counseling in Public Policies. The Institute of Economy, Finances and Statistics was founded in 2006. It is a public institution dedicated to research and innovation that has the goal of revamping the economic science in Moldova.
