The newly appointed Education Minister Maia Sandu and Interior Minister Dorin Recean have declared that they will focus on continuing the initiated reforms as well as on implementing new projects. The statements were made after a swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday evening, Info-Prim Neo reports. “I accepted your candidatures because you meet the requisite skills and competence for the job. I encourage you to implement the European integration program proposed by the governing coalition because it's in the interest of Moldova. I am confident that you will be able to live up to the expectations placed on you”, stated President Nicolae Timofti after the ministers swore their oaths. Prime Minister Vlad Filat said the expectations are high both from the government and the people, and they should be met. “We at the Government will continue to do our duty”, stated Vlad Filat. “Our objective is to give knowledge and skills to our students to make them competent on the domestic and international markets. Reforms are needed on all tiers of education. We will carry on the commenced reforms and will initiate new ones on those segments that need them”, stated Education Minister Maia Sandu. “Tomorrow I will communicate to my Interior colleagues our common objectives and we will establish a clear assessment process to bring about an efficient system. We need to win the citizens' confidence in the system. There shouldn't be any distinction from the interests of the police and those of the citizens; the interest should be one: integrity, order, security and respect. I am a manager by profession and in my Ministerial capacity I have decided that my priorities will be efficiency and credibility”, stated Interior Minister Dorin Recean. Today Prime Minister Vlad Filat will introduce Maia Sandu and Dorin Recean to their staffs and also today they will participate in their first Cabinet meeting.
