Four new ministers and one new deputy prime minister were named in the Government led by Prime Minister Ion Chicu. These are:
Cristina Lesnic, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration;
Oleg Țulea, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration;
Alexandru Pânzari, Minister of Defense;
Igor Șarov, Minister of Education, Culture and Research;
Sergiu Railean, Minister of Economy and Infrastructure.
The swearing-in ceremony was amounted not long before it was held, IPN reports.
Attending the event, President Igor Dodon said that a stable parliamentary majority was ultimately created. “There was formed the PSDM - Social-Democratic Platform for Moldova - coalition. Four months ago, we undertook responsibility for a minority government. From today, we will have a professional, technocratic government that enjoys the solid support of 58 MPs. This will enable the governmental team to work even more efficiently,” stated President Dodon.
Prime Minister Ion Chicu said the Government continues to be professional, technocratic and focused on people’s problems. The Cabinet is ready to cope with the challenges faced by the whole world in connection with the novel coronavirus.
