New method of teaching Children’s Rights to be tested in Cahul

A new method for teaching Children’s Rights in schools will be tried in Cahul as part of a project implemented by the public association INTECO, which is designed to improve the teaching process by implementing interactive methods, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the institution. Under the project titled “Improving Teaching of Children’s Rights to Students in Cahul District”, the new teaching methods will be tested at workclass lessons. The authors want to make an instructive film titled “Know Your Rights” and develop the local capacity for putting into practice innovatory teaching methods by training 10 deputy directors on education and 200 class teachers of the fifth-twelfth forms in 10 high schools until this yearend. The local community will be also sensitized to the importance of knowing Children’s Rights. There will be set up exhibitions of photographs and shown radio/TV reports, TV videos, posters, etc. The project is implemented with financial support from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency and Soros-Moldova Foundation. The partners of the project are: the Ministry of Education and Youth of Moldova, the Cahul District Council, the Cahul General Education Division, the Pro-Art Public Association (Cahul town), the Center for Social Assistance and Children’s Rights Protection in Cahul, the Public Association “Gaudeamus” in Crihana village, the Independent Press Association. INTECO was founded to contribute to the development and strengthening of the local communities, develop social participation and civilian initiative and improve the living conditions of the disfavored groups.
