The medically insured persons who suffer from psoriasis and systemic lupus erythematosus for the first time will benefit from compensated drugs for outpatient treatment. Also, diabetics will have the needles and syringes for administering insulin compensated. The decision to extend the list of medicines and medical devices that are compensated with money from the mandatory health insurance funds was taken by the Council for Compensated Medicines and the Council for Compensated Medical Devices. The changes take effect on August 1, IPN reports.
In a press release, the National House of Social Insurance said the list of compensated drugs was supplemented with five international common names of medicines intended for the treatment of psoriasis and with three international common names of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs that are used to treat systemic lupus erythematosus, and also with new preparations for the long-term treatment of glaucoma.
Also, as from August 1, the grownups and children who receive palliative medical outpatient care will benefit from one more free drug - ibuprofen.
The list of compensated medical devices was extended with needles and syringe for administering insulin, a new model of tests for measuring blood glucose and 11 new models of colostomy bags and systems and five new models of urostomy systems.
The annual projected costs for new compensated medicines stand at about 35 million lei, while for the new medical devices put on the list – at over 24.3 million lei. The money was planned in the mandatory health insurance funds, in the subprogram “Services intended for the compensation of medicines and medical devices” whose total budget for 2023 is of over 1.32 billion lei.
