New mayoral elections to take place in 17 settlements

New mayoral elections will be held in 17 Moldovan settlements on May 16. The decision was made by the Central Election Commission at its last meeting, Info-Prim Neo reports. The mayors of Beleavinţi village (Briceni district) and Seliste commune (Orhei) have died. The terms in office of the mayors of Floreni (Anenii Noi), Congaz (Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia), Floresti (Floresti), Copceac (Gagauzia) and Roscani (Straseni) expired earlier following the appearance of situations of incompatibility, while the mayors of Carpineni (Hancesti), Hansca (Ialoveni) and Rusestii Noi (Ialoveni) have been dismissed. In Sangera town and in the villages of Visniovca (Cantemir), Ciolacu-Nou (Falesti), Dragusenii Noi (Hancesti), Sestaci (Soldanesti), Codreanca (Straseni) and Albota de Sus (Taraclia), the mayors were found guilty of committing different violations and discharged.
