Ilan Shor, who was elected mayor of Orhei town on June 14, was invested within the meeting of the Town Council on July 1, IPN reports, quoting Shor’s press service.
The new mayor told his colleagues that from now on they will work in a team and that they must work together to ensure the development of Orhei.
According to the Central Election Commission, Ilan Shor won almost 62% of the vote in the mayoral elections in Orhei. Vitalie Colun, of the Liberal Democratic Party, ranked second with a score of over 12% of the ballot. Some 41% of the members of the Orhei Town Council represent the sociopolitical movement “Ravnopravie”, which fielded Shor.
On July 2, there will be held the ceremony to invest the new mayor of Balti town Renato Usatyi.
