The mayor of Orhei Ilan Shor inaugurated a new sports ground in the town, which was built in accordance with the European standards. He thus delivered one of the promises he made in the election campaign, IPN reports, quoting the press service of the mayor.
The mini-football field, located in Nistreana district of the town, was inaugurated in the evening of July 10. In the inaugural ceremony, Ilan Shor said such grounds will be built in other districts of the town as well. He thanked the participants for coming to the event, reminding them how the given area looked like several weeks ago. “I came here several weeks ago and promised that a stadium meeting the European standards will be constructed here. Here it is. I promised that such stadiums will appear in each district of the town. We will do our utmost for the people in Orhei to live well,” he stated.
The field is covered with synthetic lawn of German quality and is lit at night.
Ilan Shor said he recently discussed possibilities of developing the sports sector with the head of Orhei district and announced, in this connection, that a tennis court is to be opened in Orhei this summer.
The inauguration ended with a football match between local councilors and residents of the Nistreana district.
