Lingura village of Cantemir district and Cosernita village of Criuleni district will hold new local elections on November 15. The Central Election Commission on October 2 decided to create district electoral councils for ensuring the elections in the two villages, IPN reports.

On September 4, the Commission was notified of the circumstances leading to the lawful dissolution of the local councils in the two villages in connection with the absence of quorum at the three constitution meetings.

After this summer’s local elections, the 11-member local council of Cosernita was formed of five Socialists, three Democrats, two Communists and a Liberal-Democrat. The local council of Lingura was constituted of five Democrats and Liberal-Democrats and a Communist councilor.

The date of new elections is set by the Central Election Commission on condition that the elections are held simultaneously, at most two times a year – in spring and in autumn.
