New local mayoral elections will take place in Ghetlova village of Orhei district on May 15, 2022, as the Central Election Commission decided on October 19.
The new local elections in Ghetlova will be held in connection with the death of the mayor. The Central Election Commission was informed about the death on October 7. By May 15, the duties of mayor of Ghetlova will be fulfilled by Elena Gârneț, secretary of the local council.
Rodica Sârbu, spokeswoman for the CEC, has told IPN that the new local mayoral elections in Ghetlova are the first elections set to take place in Moldova next year.
