A large number of people gathered in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau, mobilized by the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth” . They marched to the Parliament Building to continue to protest at the installation of the Filip Government. In front of the Parliament Building, they joined with the supporters of the “Our Party” and the Party of Socialists, IPN reports.

One of the leaders of the Platform “Dignity and Truth” Vasile Nastase told the people who gathered together in the central square of Chisinau that the protesters will go on a march to the Parliament Building, where they will protest peacefully, but firmly. According to him, the people of Moldova enter the last phase of freeing the state from captivity. He called on the extraparliamentary parties, civil society and all those who want early elections to join in the protests. “Yesterday, we witnessed the installation not of a pro-European government, but of a criminal junta,” said Vasile Nastase. The protesters will also picket the building of the Broadcasting Coordination Council.

Sympathizers of the “Our Party” and the Party of Socialists came together in front of the Parliament Building. These brought funeral wreaths with them, saying the oligarchic regime is expected to die today. The leader of the “Our Party” Renato Usatyi called on the people to protest peacefully, saying the use of violence will not help. “The people must come from all the regions of the country. The residents of Chisinau should also take to the streets so that the rulers cannot go to the shop after bread,” he stated.

The Socialists’ leader Igor Dodon said the early elections are the only solution and they have a scenario for organizing them. “We, the Socialists, will go to the Constitutional Court, which will annul the January 20 decision of Parliament. On January 29, the deadline by which the Government must be invested will expire. On January 30, Parliament will be dissolved and early parliamentary elections will be called,” he stated.

The protests started during the January 20 special sitting of Parliament, where the Cabinet led by Democrat Pavel Filip was given a vote of confidence.
