The new government program that is to be presented this week contains 98% of the provisions of the program of the government coalition formed after the July 2009 elections, with the constitutional reform being proposed by all the three parties of the Alliance for European Integration, Info-Prim Neo reports.
In a program on Publika TV on Monday evening, the vice president of the PDM Valentina Buliga said it wasn't easy to formulate a new government program as every member of the alliance has its own ambitions. However, a consensus was reached. The Alliance already has a draft program that is to be approved by the three constituent parties.
“The new program includes 95 - 98% of the content of the government program of the Alliance for European Integration,” said Mihai Godea, the first vice president of the PLDM, who forms part of the group of experts working on the program.
The first vice president of the PL Anatol Salaru said the discussions on the formation of the new government program have lasted for over a week. There was a lot of technical work. There were included a number of novelties, like the constitutional reform. Anatol Salaru also said that the PL wants reforms in the legal system, the prosecutor's office and the Ministry of the Interior, which cannot be implemented without a constitutional reform.
The Liberal Democratic Party is not against a constitutional reform, said Mihai Godea. He stressed that it is important to remove the imbalances in the competences of the state institutions.
Valentina Buliga said that the Democrats are for a constitutional reform as they are sure that a new supreme law will ensure the functionality of the three powers and will develop the country's capacities.
The Parliament will hold an extraordinary session on January 11, starting at 12.00. The agenda includes the constitution of the working bodies, the Standing Bureau and the parliamentary commissions. By January 14, Prime Minister designate Vlad Filat is to present the government program and the new members of the Cabinet.
