New General Staff chief designated

The Government approved a draft presidential decree whereby brigade general Vitalie Stoian is named as chief of the General Staff and commander of the National Army, Info-Prim Neo reports. Minister of Defense Vitalie Marinuta said the general’s work is well known and approved of. He is a suitable candidate for the post of General Staff chief from all the viewpoints. By another Government Decision, historian Ion Varta was appointed as director general of the State Archive Service.
