New feeding system may be instituted in Chisinau schools

The schools and kindergartens in the municipality of Chisinau can switch from the classical feeding system to self-service. Mayor Dorin Chirtoaca was inspired by the practice of the education institutions of Stockholm, where he had been on a visit last week, Info-Prim Neo reports. Sweden’s experience shows that the self-service method is more efficient. “The children eat what and how much they want. As a result, the expenses decreased and the children became more responsible,” the mayor said in Monday’s meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials. According to a communiqué from the City Hall, the new system will be implemented in several education institutions on a trial basis. Since autumn, it will be extended to all the preschool and preuniversity education institutions in the municipality.
