The State University of Moldova (USM) Wednesday inaugurated the European Information Center set up with support from the European Union Delegation to Moldova. The Center is designed to provide all-embracing information about the EU to the USM students and all those interested, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“The European Information Center will make available wide-ranging information and literature - EU programs and instruments intended for the countries that form part of the European Neighborhood Policy, including Moldova, the EU legislation, business rules and culture. We hope that this Center will fuel interest in European subjects, while the furnished information will help understand and find our more about the EU,” said the Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova, Ambassador Dirk Schuebel.
The European Information Center will provide the students, teachers and professionals working in different areas with brochures, textbooks, studies and reports as well as works of art.
“The creation of the European Information Center is dictated by the necessity of enriching knowledge about the EU and the steps taken by Moldova on the path to European integration. We are glad that the European Union Delegation to Moldova created possibilities for us to learn about the EU and the European family of cultures,” said USM pro-rector Tudor Arnaut.
Currently, there are six European Information Centers in Moldova. They are housed by the universities in Balti, Cahul, Comrat, and Chisinau.
