As from March 1, maternity benefit is provided regardless of the contributory income obtained during the maternity leave, IPN reports, quoting the National House of Social Insurance.
This way, the insured woman is entitled to maternity benefit even if she works during the leave and has earnings.
The maternity benefit is calculated from the insured income of the wife or the husband, depending on whose income ensures a higher maternity benefit.
The maternity benefit is offered to insured women, wives maintained by insured husbands and unemployed women who were under the supervision of public health facilities of Moldova.
The benefit is set by the National House of Social Insurance based on information from the maternity leave certificate transmitted by the medical services providers through intersystem connections and on data available in the State Register of Individual Records in the public social insurance system.
