New constructions prevail over repair works

The construction organizations over the first three months of the year performed construction-assembly works to the value of 515.4 million lei in current prices, which is 109.0% in comparable prices compared with the corresponding period last year, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the National Bureau of Statistics. The works to erect new buildings came to 325.3 million lei. They represent 63.1% of the total executed works. The capital and current repair works constituted 35.3% of the works. By types of facilities, the works performed on residential buildings and piping systems increased by 18% and 43.3% respectively compared with January-March last year, while those on non-residential buildings decreased by 33.1%. The major volume of works was performed by private contractors, to the value of 400.1 million lei or 77.6% of the total executed works and 103.2% compared with January-March 2011.
