From January 1, the economic entities that import goods into the EU will be obliged to submit a summary statement to the European customs authorities, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communique from the Ministry of Economy.
The summary statements must include information about the transportation method, the name, quantity and weight of the goods, the sender, recipient and other details. The companies will have to send an electronic message to the EU customs authorities before taking the goods into or out of the European Union.
The deadline for data submission depends on the units of transport used, from 24 hours before loading for freight transported by ships up to one hour before arrival for goods transported by trucks and even less for those transported by planes.
The Council of the European Union modified the lists of hazardous chemical products whose import and export is restricted.
The measures were taken with the aim of increasing the security and safety of the international trade and creating conditions for the EU customs authorities to better analyze the risks on the basis of the information that is received before the goods enter or go out the EU.
