When applying for an authorization to the Chisinau City Hall, the economic entities will be obliged to ask for a notice about the standard name format and the architectural design of the commercial unit that they intend to open, which will be issued free by the municipality. Such a provision will be included in the regulations concerning the posting of external advertisements in Chisinau municipality, which are being worked out.
Asked by IPN, senior specialist of the Social-Humanitarian and Interethnic Relations Division Angela Lubas said the regulations will specify the documents needed to obtain an authorization and to display ads. Now that the Code of Administrative Offenses was modified, the economic entities will have the right to place notices about the provided services, but will be fined if they post incorrect information and if they do not obey the conditions concerning the exterior of the retail outlet, etc.
The company will have the freedom to choose the name of the commercial unit, but will have to correctly write it. It must also take into account the presence of tourist facilities and architectural monuments nearby. The economic entities can post information only about the services they provide, according to the authorization, so as to avoid misinforming the consumers.
“The consumers must be correctly informed about the kind of activity, the range of services and the name of the company. The legislation didn’t stipulate these aspects until now,” said Angela Lubas. She added there are frequent cases when the consumers are misinformed about the range of services provided by a retail unit, but they don’t know who should be informed about such situations.
