The Chisinau Public Health Center announced four more cases of acute gastroenterocolitis among children of the municipal Kindergarten No.113. Contacted by IPN, Elena Vorotneac, communicator of the Chisinau Division of Education, Youth and Sport, said an order was made to temporarily close the group attended by the children who fell ill. The group will remain closed at least until the end of next week.

According to the Chisinau Public Health Center, three children became sick on December 10, while another child on December 15. Currently, a child is at the Municipal Clinical Hospital of Infectious Diseases, while three receive treatment at home.

Lab investigations showed there employees of the kindergarten were infected with Staphylococcus aureus. No entheropathogenic bacteria were identified in teaching staff and cooks. Of eight food samples collected on December 7-8, one contained the coliform bacteria. This shows the hygiene rules in the process of using finished goods are not fully respected. The investigation goes on.

Earlier, the Ministry of Health said five cases of acute diarrheal diseases were recorded among children of Kindergarten No.113 of Chisinau. Four children got acute gastroenterocolitis, while one child suffered food poisoning. The Government ordered to constitute a working group to examine the situation at the given kindergarten.
