The list of those who aim to become mayor of Bălți municipality was supplemented with two aspirants. Alexandr Nesterovschi, of the Bloc of Communists and Socialists, and Nicolai Grigorishin, who aims to run independently, submitted the required documents to the Bălți District Electoral Council, IPN reports.

Viorica Cemîrtan, secretary of the Bălți District Electoral Council, has told IPN that Alexandr Nesterovschi filed the documents on October 18, while Nicolai Grigorishin – on October 15.

The Party of Socialists yesterday held a rally to present candidate Alexandr Nesterovschi. The party’s leader Igor Dodon in the event said the new government managed to disappoint the own supporters. The prices and tariffs in the Republic of Moldova grow and the people become poorer, while a series of strategic problems, such as the supply of gas, remain unsolved. “No one except us will remove this ‘yellow scourge.’ There is no one else who can do this. The Communists and the Socialists combined forces to save the country. Our objective is to free Moldova. We are the successors of the winners,” stated Igor Dodon.

So far, the Bălți District Electoral Council registered the following candidates for mayor of the municipality: Boris Marcoci, of the Party of Action and Solidarity, under No. 1 on the ballot; Ion Starciuc, of the Party “Building Europe at Homer”, under No. 2; Maxim Burduja, of the National Unity Party, under No. 3.

Snap mayoral elections in the municipality of Bălți will take place on November 21.
