The members of the Cabinet headed by Dorin Recean took their oaths of office in a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace.

President Maia Sandu declared that the incoming Cabinet has to manage the affairs of the country in a very difficult period, marked by multiple crises. “People's expectations of you, of the government in general, are very high. Moldova must not only resist, but must develop. Our responsibility is to protect people from the crises affecting our country, but also to invest in the future. The task of the incoming Government is to provide security to the people and put the country on a path of reconstruction and development, despite the crises. Our development project is the accession to the European Union”, declared the president.
Maia Sandu added that the changes to be made to meet the EU conditions are not only requirements of the accession process, but are prerequisites for the good functioning of the state. “This year and in the years to come we must rebuild the economy. Our policies must motivate working people, motivate job creators, conscientious employees. The objective is to create more jobs, to increase labor productivity”, the president also said.
“Mr. Prime Minister, dear ministers, you have a difficult task ahead of you, but I know you will succeed. I have faith in the Republic of Moldova and in our power to rebuild it”, declared President Sandu.
The Recean Cabinet was inaugurated earlier today following a formal vote in Parliament. It received 62 votes from the governing party PAS, as the Communists and Socialists group tried to block the central tribune in protest against the limitation of speeches. Meanwhile outside Parliament building, a protest rally was held by a group of parties calling themselves the National Movement for the People. It includes the Shor Party, whose MPs chose to boycott the Parliament meeting.
